Sénanque Abbey has stood in this valley since 1148, through wars, plague and a fire that once took out half the monastery, down to a handful of monks by 1439 from a community that had numbered in the hundreds. The rows of lavender everyone photographs against its stone walls look like they've been there just as long. 

This poster is an original illustration in watercolour and ink, painted exclusively for the Ella's Adventures travel poster series.
