Each poster comes with a letter home. Ella writes about the place and its hidden history, and the details that never makes it into the guidebooks.

On the morning of 14 July 1902, the bell tower standing over Piazza San Marco simply came down, a nine hundred year old structure collapsing in on itself so neatly that it barely damaged the buildings around it. Remarkably, nobody was killed, except for the caretaker's cat. The Venetians rebuilt it exactly as it had been, under the motto com'era, dov'era, as it was, where it was, and it reopened on 25 April 1912, on St Mark's feast day, precisely one thousand years, by tradition, after the original tower's foundations were first laid.

This poster is an original illustration in watercolour and ink, painted exclusively for the Ella's Adventures travel poster series.

No frame included.
