Padstow Blue 'Oss, Cornwall · Travel Poster

The Blue Ribbon 'Oss was raised in the nineteenth century by Padstow's Temperance movement, who hoped to steer May Day away from the pubs, though the rest of the town has never been entirely sure it worked. On the first of May it dances its own way through the streets, its Mayers in white with blue ribbons, until the two 'Osses finally meet at the maypole as the day draws to a close. An original illustration, available in colour or black and white, created for the Ella's Adventures travel poster series. Collect it alongside its rival, the Red 'Oss.
