Step in through Jaffa Gate and look left, past the railing, to two plain graves set against the wall. Legend says they hold the architects that Suleiman the Magnificent hired to build these walls between 1537 and 1541, executed when he saw they had left Mount Zion outside the line of stone, then buried with honour inside the walls they had raised.
