Criccieth Marine Terrace

Every picture tells a story, and this one belongs to Criccieth. Marine Terrace, or Min y Môr in Welsh, is the long handsome row of Victorian houses that stands between the town and the sea, their facades facing Cardigan Bay as though they have been waiting for something to arrive on the tide. It is one of those streets that looks exactly as a seaside street should, and somehow always manages to surprise you anyway.

This poster is an original illustration in watercolour and ink, painted by Ella for the Ella's Adventures travel poster series. It comes with a letter home. Ella writes about Criccieth, the terrace and the bay it overlooks, and the kind of local history that rarely makes it into the guidebooks.
