Each poster comes with a letter home. Ella writes about the place and its hidden history, and the details that never makes it into the guidebooks.

Sometimes nicknamed the poor man's Galápagos, the Ballestas Islands hold archaeological remains over 6,000 years old and were once central to a booming nineteenth century guano industry, the accumulated bird droppings exported worldwide as fertilizer and piling up several metres deep in places. Approaching by sea, visitors pass the Candelabro de Paracas, a mysterious geoglyph roughly 150 metres tall etched into a nearby hillside, visible only from the water, dating back at least two thousand years and still not fully explained.

This poster is an original illustration in watercolour and ink, painted exclusively for the Ella's Adventures travel poster series.

No frame included.
