About Ella's Adventures

Ella's Adventures began with my great-aunt Ella, who travelled between Manchester and Venezuela in the late 1930s. She was not famous. She did not write books. But she wrote letters home, and in those letters she documented everything she saw: the people she met on the crossing, the heat of Caracas, the strangeness of arriving somewhere new and trying to describe it to people who would never go there themselves.

Her letters were observational, warm, and full of the kind of detail that most people leave out. They are the reason this brand exists.

Today, Ella's Adventures produces original watercolour and ink travel posters, illustrated history letters, art postcards, and Cornish dialect gifts. Everything is made in the UK. Every poster comes with a letter. Every letter is worth keeping.

The brand is run by her great-neice Tracey, a surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Devon, working in the tradition of the great travel writers: the ones who noticed things, wrote them down, and sent them home.
